Here's what one Head Teacher said following a visit from 'Grandad Wheels'...

"We hosted Halifax based author Brian Abram in November 2019 for a school visit to Ravenscliffe and we weren’t disappointed. The opportunity to meet a published author was too good to miss and our students were really excited.

Brian engaged with them from the offset. His own story was pretty unique and inspiring, even before the students got to read the latest ‘Grandad Wheels’ story with him, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Out of his own story of overcoming personal challenge and losing his ability to walk, Brian was able to encourage our own students to try to take on their own challenges and make the most of their own opportunities. The books are very powerful in promoting a uniquely positive view of disability.

It was such a positive experience to host Brian who was full of energy and fun. He received  a ‘highly recommended' tag from our students and we hope that his visits to Ravenscliffe will continue regularly into the future."
